The Hillsdale Neighborhood is located in Southwest Portland within Multnomah County. It has a total area of 0.38 square miles and an estimated population of 11,990 residents as of 2015. The neighborhood was developed after the city experienced its first significant growth following World War II. Many veterans returned from war to start their families with homes built specifically for them on small plots of land at affordable rates.

This community became home to predominantly middle-class blue-collar workers who mainly worked in manufacturing jobs but have since shifted to service sector opportunities over time due to technological advancements.
