Things To Do In Portland – Roloff Farms

Roloff Farms

The Roloff Farms is a farm and tourist attraction located in the hills of Oregon. The family-owned business began as an apple orchard but has since expanded to include several other products and attractions on the property. This destination should be at the top of your list for those looking for things to do in Portland!

The Roloff Farm offers a variety of activities for adults and children. The farm is home to ponies, goats, pigs, chickens, cows, and more. You can feed the animals on certain days of the week! In addition to feeding time at the farm, you can tour several areas, including an apple orchard, a pumpkin patch, the “maize” (a corn maze), and an area with Christmas trees in the winter.

There is also a playground on-site and a store that sells fresh produce, jams, jellies, baked goods, and more.

History of Roloff Farms

The Roloff Farm was founded in 1971 by Matt and Amy Roloff. The couple purchased the farm from Matt’s parents, who had started it as an apple orchard in the 1950s. The Roloffs continued to operate the farm as an apple orchard until they retired in 2000. At that time, their four children took over the business, expanding it to include a pumpkin patch and adding more animals. In 2018 they opened their doors as a tourist attraction with daily farm tours.

Today Roloff Farms is operated by Matt’s children Jeremy, Zachary, Molly, Jacob, and spouses and grandchildren.

The family says that while they have had their share of ups and downs over the years, they are grateful for the opportunity to continue running the farm that has been in their family for four generations.
