History of Healy Heights Neighborhood
The Healy Heights Neighborhood is located at the Northeast corner of Portland, Oregon. It was named after John A. Healey, who owned land around 1905-1907 that would later be developed into homes and roads to serve them. The community consists of both single-family homes and multi-family residential buildings with shops on ground levels. This neighborhood has a population density suitable for walking or biking; schools are also close by, resulting in lower transportation costs than many other areas of Portland, making it very convenient for residents.
The Healy Heights Neighborhood has a rich and varied history. One of the first things that happened in the area was developing a streetcar line that ran from Northeast Portland to downtown.
