There are also sections along this trail where weathered tables have been placed at different points so people can stop and sit down for a while to think about life while enjoying their surroundings.

You’ll see mountains off in the distance that surround us. If you’d like, there’s even an observation deck where you can sit down and enjoy watching some ships travel through Commencement Bay which is right below our feet!. This park’s history dates back over 100 years ago where many different Native American tribes would come here and enjoy this waterfront for fishing, hunting, camping, and playing around on the beach! In 1915 the area was turned into a city-owned park thriving ever since with all sorts of activities available.

Recently, there have been complaints from those who live nearby about noise pollution at night due to parties being held by college students or other groups, but nothing too crazy so far, thankfully. The police are pretty good about regularly patrolling, which makes me feel more comfortable when I walk through here after dark!

The last fun fact is that there are many cool artistic areas here as well made from driftwood and other materials collected from the beach.

There are wide, flat sidewalks that follow along the water’s edge. These lead you to playgrounds and picnic areas. It is an excellent place for families with children. The park also has restrooms throughout its pedestrian paths, so there isn’t any need to go far from your site once you arrive!
