Established in 1964, the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) is one of the top places to see in Tacoma, Washington. It stands as one of the most prominent art sources in the Pacific Northwest and greater western region and has strong community roots. The Tacoma Art Museum was initially the Tacoma Art League, which was more of a casual gathering that started in 1891. It later changed to the Tacoma Art Society in the 1930s before finally becoming the museum in 1964.
