About the North Queen Anne Neighborhood
Seattle is divided into many different neighborhoods, and the North Queen Anne neighborhood is one of them. It sits north of downtown in the northern part of the city. The area was named after a local hill that has been there since before European settlers came to America. Currently, it’s home to about 20,000 people and increasing due to its proximity to downtown, where jobs are readily available through large companies like Amazon and Microsoft, which have headquarters located in Redmond, just 15 miles away from Seattle center. Although not entirely dominated by tech workers, you will find that typically residents living here tend to work very hard for their money as they commute between their homes outside the city limits, such as Bellevue or Everett, where rent prices are much lower than in Seattle.
North Queen Anne Neighborhood is highly diverse. It’s not rare to find people of different ethnicities, religions, and political views living side by side in this neighborhood. There are many attractions around North Queen Anne Neighborhood, including the Mercer Arena, home to the WNBA team Storm, and an indoor skate park that provides space for bikers throughout all four seasons while offering a rock-climbing wall during good weather days. Outdoor Movies at Marymoor Park is another event that happens every year during the summer months. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a movie under the stars with popcorn, candy & other snacks, and drinks for sale by the concession stand.
