History of King Neighborhood

The King Neighborhood in Northeast Portland, Oregon, was originally part of the town of Albina. The neighborhood was platted in 1891 by H.S. King and his wife Harriet as an exclusive residential district for the city’s elite. At the time, it was one of the most upscale neighborhoods in all of Portland.
