History of Buckman Neighborhood
The Buckman neighborhood was once a separate town known as East Portland in Portland, Oregon. The City of Portland in 1891 annexed the town. The area in which the streetcar line was constructed is now known as Hawthorne District. This district runs along SE Hawthorne Boulevard between 32nd Avenue and 50th Avenue.
